Dramatic Pileup Brings 5 Freeway to a Crawl
One person was seriously injured when a big rig crash left an SUV overturned and another car facing the wrong direction on the 5 Freeway.

A multi-vehicle crash on the Santa Ana (5) Freeway in Lake Forest today left one motorist seriously injured.
The 10:20 a.m. crash at Lake Forest Drive involved a big-rig and left an overturned SUV on the right shoulder and another vehicle facing the wrong way in the high-occupancy vehicle lane, according to Officer Denise Quesada of the California Highway Patrol.
Authorities closed all but one lane at one point, with all lanes expected to be reopened by noon, Quesada said.

A 46-year-old man was trapped in the SUV, which rolled over, and was taken to Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo with serious injuries, according to Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Steve Concialdi.
A woman behind the wheel of another car involved in the crash was taken to Hoag Hospital in Irvine with minor injuries, Concialdi said.
