DUI Checkpoint Announced In Laguna Beach: What To Know

Laguna Beach police officers will set up a DUI/sobriety checkpoint Friday, June 14. Drive sober or get pulled over.

LAGUNA BEACH, CA — A DUI Sobriety Checkpoint is slated for the evening of Friday, June 14, according to the Laguna Beach Police Department.

"Impaired drivers put others on the road at significant risk, any prevention measures that reduce the number on our roads significantly improves traffic safety," Lieutenant Jesse Schmidt said in a news release.

The exact location of the checkpoint was not revealed; LBPD officers will be at the unknown location from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m., Schmidt said.

Funding for this program was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
