Election 2022: Laguna Beach Developer Joins Race For City Council
A new candidate has thrown in his hat for the 2022 Laguna Beach City Council election.
LAGUNA BEACH, CA — A real estate investor and developer will run for a seat on the Laguna Beach City Council this November election season, the Laguna Beach Independent reported.
Laguna Beach resident Mark Orgill, 60, has several local projects under his belt. He is known for developing the seven-degrees event venue, Laguna College of Art + Design Residence Hall and Sunset Cove Villas, according to the report.
Orgill has considered a run for city council for years, and was recently encouraged by Laguna Beach residents to toss his hat in for the race "amid a steady decline of civility and decorum on the panel over the last few years," the report said.

“I don’t think that it really serves any of us to have all of this conflict. I think it’s very disappointing. Because of these relationships, I think I can encourage and work with people to sit down like we used to and have spirited debates,” Orgill told the Laguna Beach Independent.
