Erroneous Mountain Lion Sightings Reported In Laguna Beach
Three different mountain lion sightings were reported this week in Laguna Beach, but here is what residents really saw.
LAGUNA BEACH, CA —This week, three erroneous mountain lion sightings were reported over four days by Laguna Beach residents, the police department said.
There hasn’t been an actual mountain lion observed in the wilderness areas near Laguna Beach in over 20 years, according to wildlife experts, Laguna Beach Animal Services staff, and OC Parks staff.
"All three of those mountain lion sightings were unfounded," the city of Laguna Beach reported.
Most of the mountain lion sightings are actually bobcats, or in some cases coyotes they said.
