Fallen Mountain Biker Airlifted from Bottom of Laguna Canyon
A mountain biker was hurt Friday when he fell hundreds of yards down a steep embankment.

LAGUNA BEACH, CA A mountain biker was airlifted to safety in Laguna Beach Friday afternoon after falling into a Canyon.
The cyclist, a man in his 50s, fell at about 4 p.m., and a friend called 911 for help.
The cyclist fell in the Big Bend area of Laguna Canyon, said Capt. Larry Kurtz of the Orange County Fire Authority. NBC4 reported that the cyclist fell 200 to 300 feet. The terrain was too steep for the man to climb out.

Crews used a helicopter to hoist the injured cyclist out of the canyon, and he was rushed to a nearby hospital.
