Pedestrian Fatally Struck On Coast Highway In Laguna Beach Friday
A woman was struck by a sedan while crossing Coast Highway near Mountain Road in Laguna Beach Friday.

LAGUNA BEACH, CA — A pedestrian died Friday evening after a crash on Coast Highway in Laguna Beach, the Laguna Beach Police Department reported.
The crash was reported at around 6:45 p.m. Friday after officers were dispatched to the area of Coast Highway and Mountain Road. Upon arriving, officers found Laguna Beach Marine Safety officers giving life-saving measures to a female victim.
Firefighter paramedics attempted to revive the victim, but she was pronounced dead at the scene. She has not been identified by police.

Authorities said an initial investigation showed that the pedestrian, an adult female, was struck by a sedan on South Coast Highway near Mountain Road as she was crossing the street.
Witnesses told police that the woman was not in the crosswalk when she was hit by the vehicle.

Drugs and alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the crash, police said.
The motorist involved in the crash stayed at the scene and cooperated with police, authorities said.
The crash prompted authorities to close Coast Highway from Mountain Road to Cress Street for several hours Friday night.
The Laguna Beach Police Department Traffic Bureau remained at the scene for much of Friday night, and the cause of the collision is still under investigation.
