Laguna Firefighters Knock Down House Fire Near Thurston Middle School

LAGUNA BEACH, CA — Laguna Beach firefighters were hard at work after extinguishing a house fire that erupted Wednesday morning near Thurston Middle School, the city said.

Arriving fire engine crews found a two-story home with flames visible from both levels in the front of the home near Park Avenue and Hillview Drive Wednesday morning.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire, which appeared to have started in the garage and spread into the upstairs living area, the Laguna Beach Independent reported.

No injuries were reported.

The fire prompted authorities to issue an hourlong traffic advisory for the area while they assessed the scene. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
