Fire Goats Return: The Hills Are Alive In Laguna Beach
Laguna Beach Fire Goats get back to work, according to the city. Back from springtime in Perris, these goats are taking care of hills.

LAGUNA BEACH, CA — They're back from a Perris vacation, and they're hungry.
This spring, the Laguna Beach Fire Department has some unlikely friends in the hills, keeping the green wild grasses at bay to decrease fire danger.
Yes, the Fire Goats have returned to conduct fuel modification, according to the City of Laguna Beach in recent release.

"With all of the rain the state has experienced this past winter our hillside are now green with growth," the city of Laguna Beach said. "This growth in the City’s fourteen fuel modification zones must now be managed prior the beginning of fire season."
To help the City in this process, the goats used to graze the zones have returned from their vacation in Perris, California, (not Paris, France) to begin work in the northern part of the City.

The herd consists of approximately 200 goats and they should be kept busy for the next several months as they make their way from the north part of the City to the south, according to the city.
