Fire Guts Laguna Beach Automotive Business Overnight
A devastating fire engulfed the old boathouse building early Friday morning in Laguna Beach.

LAGUNA BEACH, CA — Laguna Beach firefighters worked to extinguish a structure fire at the old boathouse building on the 1000 block of Coast Highway early Friday morning.
Smoke and flames billowed from the rooftop of the auto detailing shop building at South Coast Highway and Anita as firefighters arrived at the scene at 1:30 a.m.
Firefighters from Orange County Fire Authority, Newport Beach Fire Department all responded to the scene of the blaze and worked to knock down the fire. The Laguna Beach Police Department was also on hand during the incident.

"It took firefighters a little bit to knock down the blaze due to access issues in the above floors while the fire extended into the walls and attic spaces," the Laguna Beach Fire department reported.
All occupants and firefighters made it out safely and no injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
