Waking up with the waves on Friday, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Laguna Beach Patch surf report. Well, the latest storm has yet to arrive this morning, so why not go grab a quick session? The conditions are starting off pretty clean, but don't be surprised if things take a turn for the worse if and when the storm comes into play.
We're seeing a combo of dropping west-northwest swell and some minor south-southwest energy in the mix. That recipe is providing some kinda soft lines, with a few fun shoulders to snag.
Most Laguna Beach spots are hanging the in the knee- to thigh-high range, with the standout breaks pulling waist-high waves, with a few plus sets.

Taking a look at those tides ... at 8:44 this morning it climbs up to a 6.3 high, which will definitely have some spots along this stretch of coast pretty full or even shut down mid-morning. The tide then drains out to a negative 1.1 low at 3:21 this afternoon.
If you're going to get wet, then you'll want to throw on at least the 3/2 fullsuit or the 4/3 and maybe the boots, with the water temperature averaging between 56 and 58 degrees. See ya in the water!

FYI...County Health Officials urge surfers and swimmers to stay out of the ocean after a rain for at least 72 hours due to increased bacteria levels, especially near harbors, river mouths and storm drains.
