Gas Leak in Laguna Beach: Road Closure at Monterey and Ocean View
A gas leak has closed the intersection of Monterey and Ocean View.

LAGUNA BEACH, CA — A gas leak was reported in the area of Monterey and Ocean View at approximately 10 a.m.
"At 9:30 a.m. emergency personnel went to Monterey and Ocean View where repair crews doing roadwork in the area ruptured a gas line," Laguna Beach Police Department Information Officer Tim Kleiser said.
As of 11:45 a.m. SoCal Gas and Laguna Beach Public Works worked to repair the leak.

"Currently no vehicular traffic is allowed however pedestrian and cyclist movement is permitted," Laguna Beach Police Sgt.Tim Kleiser said. "Ocean view street residents are able to leave in a vehicle however, they won't be allowed back into the neighborhood until repairs have been completed."
Two nearby homes were evacuated and there have been no reports of injuries according to Kleiser.

It was expected that repairs should reach completion by 1 p.m.
