Generous Festival of Arts Foundation gives ART4KIDS, Inc. $1,000 grant
Children experiencing distress or trauma can get art supplies from nonprofit dedicated to their artistic expression

The Festival of Arts Foundation has awarded $1,000 to ART4KIDS, INC for free art materials for children of Laguna Beach. Pam Schader, an artist and art educator, founded ART4KIDS to provide art materials for children in distress.
Schader explains, “Research shows visual art to be one of the most effective modalities for treating trauma. The arts contribute to positive self-esteem, improved communicative skills and heightened engagement as well as success in math, language, and science.”

• CSP Youth Shelter - Providing a wide variety of drawing, painting and craft materials for use by the teens. An important part of the CSP treatment plan is creating a list of coping skills for teens to take home with them. Art is always on that list.
• Laguna Beach Community Clinic – Donating special “artpacks” for ill or injured

• Laguna Art Museum – Providing art materials for marginalized teens who wish to attend 2017 Summer Art Camp at the museum this year.
• Laguna Food Pantry– Contributing art supplies for the children of the 300 families who visit the pantry weekly; they enjoy selecting crayons, markers or watercolors.
Since its inception. ART4KIDS, INC. has helped 50,000 children – ill, hospitalized, abused, orphaned, homeless, or otherwise in distress. ART4KIDS, Inc., funded by private donations and grant awards, serves social service agencies in Orange County. Since 2001, the organization has made significant annual donations of art materials to Laguna Beach organizations which help children in distress.
