Gunshot Victim Dies After Dramatic Car Crash In Orange
Police are investigating the events that led to the crash and the eventual death of the shooting victim.

ORANGE, CA —City of Orange police are investigating incidents that led to a car crash overnight. Police say that one person involved in the collision later died of a gunshot wound that occurred before the crash. It is not yet known where they were shot, police say.
Two cars collided just after 11:15 p.m. Thursday in Orange, at Chapman Avenue and Tustin Street, according to Lt. Jennifer Amat of the Orange Police Department.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene to find one of the victims of the crash, who was inside a vehicle with "multiple others," had been shot.

That individual died later at an area hospital as a result of the shooting, Amat said.
No one suffered injuries in the crash, Amat said.

"We don't believe the (driver) of the other vehicle was our suspect. It was unrelated to the shooting," Amat said. "And there is no indication the shooting happened at Tustin and Chapman."
