Homeless Shelter Evacuated In Laguna Beach
Immediate evacuation orders were given to areas off Laguna Canyon Road, including a homeless facility.
LAGUNA BEACH, CA ā Laguna Beach police issued an immediate evacuation area for areas east of Laguna Canyon Road, Thursday, during the torrential downpour.
Phillips Street to Old Dump Road (just north of the Animal Shelter), the low lying areas around the Laguna Canyon Road, were evacuated to keep residents safe, according to police.

Laguna Beach PD and city officials evacuated the alternative sleeping location (ASL), bussing area homeless out of harm's way, they said.

The Laguna Beach Animal Shelter sheltered in place, though there was an emergency evacuation plan created for those animals housed there, emergency coordinator Jordan Villwock said. "The animals are safe and the building is not flooding."
Those affected by the evacuations are invited to utilize the Susi Q, located at 380 Third Street. Animals were welcomed at the center, officials said.
