Hunger And Homelessness Awareness Month In Laguna Beach

For the 12th year, Laguna Beach is bringing awareness to the community about a problem that plagues the nation. Here's how to help.

LAGUNA BEACH, CA — From food drives to feature films, residents of Laguna Beach will gather in November to participate in National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Month.

Laguna is no stranger do dealing with homelessness, their Friendship Shelter and Alternate Sleeping Location have been looked to as a model for other cities to follow during Orange County's battle with the homeless crisis.

According to the April Point in Time report on homelessness in Orange County, Laguna Beach was offering assistance to 147 individuals. In total, there were 71 unsheltered individuals within city limits, and 76 sheltered individuals. The city offers resources and ways to help

Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Month serves to enhance community awareness of the issue across Laguna Beach and Orange County.

Over the next 30 days, Laguna Beach will focus on issues as well as to provide opportunities for the haves of our city to render aid to the have nots.
