Jack-In-The-Box Slashing Suspect Arrested: Cops

A suspect was arrested for wielding a knife and slashing at a diner at the Laguna Beach Jack In The Box restaurant.

LAGUNA BEACH, CA — A suspect was arrested Saturday night after a stabbing attempt at the local Jack in the Box, police say. One person was injured in the attack and a suspect has been arrested for the crime.

Alan Warren Anderson, a 59-year-old Kerrville, Tex. resident, allegedly slashed at a restaurant diner with a knife after being "insulted," according to Laguna Beach Police Department Sgt. Jim Cota.

A witness captured information about the vehicle, a black Mercedes Benz bearing Texas plates, and Laguna Beach Police Officers stopped the vehicle at Myrtle Street and North Coast Highway, according to Cota. Officers found a bloody knife and a handgun in the trunk of the car, Cota said.

"The victim received an 8-inch laceration to his torso," Cota said.

Anderson was charged with felony assault and was being held on $25,000 bail.
