Jamboree Closed in Patrol Car Crash with Tree
A police officer was hurt Sunday and Jamboree Road was closed for hours after a patrol car collided with a tree.

A Newport Beach police officer was injured in a single-vehicle crash into a tree Sunday.
It happened about 2 p.m. on Jamboree Road near the 73 toll road, said Newport Beach Deputy Chief Jon Lewis.
The officer was taken to a hospital, Lewis said.

“He is going to be fine,” the deputy chief said.
It was not immediately clear if the officer was responding to a call at the time of the crash.

Jamboree Road was closed in both directions between San Joaquin Hills Road and Eastbluff Drive and was expected to remain so for hours after the crash, police said.
