The Boys are Back in Town...no not Thin Lizzy...a song inspired by their working class fans who tended to drink heavily...or so I read. “…Guess who just got back today? Those wild-eyed boys that have been away...Man, I still think those cats are great...” JoAnne Artman Gallery is pleased to welcome back James Verbicky and Robert Mars!

James Verbicky’s unique process of collaging vintage print media with resins and dyes results in panels that burst with color and pattern. Like Verbicky, New York based artist Robert Mars appropriates images from popular culture. Elevating the commonplace into fine art, Verbicky and Mars both celebrate and critique mass culture. Combining quintessential images with textual vibrancy, these artists create iconic designs capturing what the seer may discover in a subliminal and not so subliminal way.

These artists will inspire, provoke, engage and mesmerize. With visual perceptions always changing, peek behind the stories told and you’re sure to find the right artistic expression!
