KXMas Lineup To Feature Gothic Tropic, Nancy Wilson And More

We love KXMas and now, Los Angeles based Gothic Tropic will Roadcase Royal and La Sera at the Irvine Bowl show. Here's the latest.

LAGUNA BEACH, CA — Music fans, the KXMas lineup of artists just keeps getting better. This week it was announced that the KX 93.5’s annual KXMas concert will now feature indie pop band Gothic Tropic on its impressive lineup including La Sera and Nancy Wilson of Heart with Roadcase Royale.

The concert is on Dec. 8 at Irvine Bowl (Pageant of the Masters).

Gothic Tropic replaces Springtime Carnivore, unable to perform at the concert due to the lead singer’s previous commitments with Vampire Weekend.

Based in Los Angeles, Gothic Tropic is the solo project of Cecilia Della Peruti which starred with the release of her first EP in 2011. She has since released her first album, Fast or Feast, released in May of 2017 after a year of writing on the road.

Mixing shimmering pop with psych and classic rock, Peruti introduces some hard edges to the playful world of pop. She keeps the vibe punchy with a unique lead guitar style inspired by 70s heroes and nods to an era of female rock nobility that begs to be seen and heard. Opening for rock ‘n’ roll legend Nancy Wilson will be a dream come true for the band influenced by Heart.

After working in the studio with Ryan Adams and earning endorsements from indie-rock heroes James Mercer and Karen O, Peruti cut her teeth as a multi-instrumentalist touring player for Beck, Børns, Charli XCX and more. Peruti has also won sponsorships with leading gear manufacturers and is currently featured as one of the guitarists in Fender’s American Professional Series campaign.

Having just supported Kate Nash on her recent UK tour, as well as packing out her first UK and EU headline tour and festival circuit, Gothic Tropic is thrilled to be playing a little closer to home at the Irvine Bowl in Laguna Beach.

Outside the bowl, the Festival of Arts grounds will play host to a family-friendly Winter Wonderland, complete with craft food/drink, “indie” carolers, and Old Saint Nick himself. Drink sponsors include Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Libre Tequila, Laguna Beach Beer Company, and The Wine Gallery.

There will be a pre-show VIP reception hosted by Terra and 7Degrees. VIP tickets also include premium seating and reserved parking.

All concert-goers will have access to an online silent auction. As this is the only
fundraising event the station is holding this year, generating support from attendees is more important than ever.
