Laguna Beach Bank Robber Strikes Again? In Seal Beach & Torrance

The Chase Bank in Seal Beach was the latest in a trio of Southern California bank robberies according to officials on scene

SEAL BEACH, CA -- The Chase Bank in Seal Beach may have been preyed upon by a serial bank robber according to local police. The tall, thin built man wears a nylon-style black mask obscuring his features, dark gloves and carries a long-barreled revolver, as can be seen in the photos.

This masked gunman robbed a Chase bank branch in Seal Beach Thursday.

The suspect was armed with a silver, long-barreled revolver when he entered the bank at 801 Pacific Coast Highway shortly before 4 p.m., according to Seal Beach police.

"Although officers arrived on scene shortly after the call was made, there was a 4-5 minute delay from the time of the crime and the time of the 911 call," Seal Beach Sgt. Michael Henderson said. "

It was unclear how much money the suspect made off with when he fled on foot in an unknown direction..

The bandit was described as a Caucasian male, about 6 feet 3 inches tall with a thin build. He had a ski-type mask over his face and has been seen wearing a black or gray shirt collared oxford style shirt and dark-colored jeans.

"The suspect matches the description of a bank robbery suspect from recent cases out of both Laguna Beach and Torrance," said Seal Beach police Sgt. Michael Henderson.
