Laguna Beach Cyclist Bikes To Raise Money For Cancer In 2026 Pan-Mass Challenge

LAGUNA BEACH, CA — One local Laguna Beach woman is making an impact in a big way.

Mary Lou Mooney will be among more than 6,000 cyclists and 4,000 volunteers participating in the annual Pan-Mass Challenge bike-a-thon across Massachusetts.

The event raises money for cancer research and care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, according to organizers. This year, organizers hope to raise $79 million for cancer research.

"The theme for this year's Pan-Mass Challenge, which is 'now, more than ever,' underscores the paramount importance of every single dollar raised in fueling the search for a cure," Founder and Chairman of the Pan-Mass Challenge Billy Star said. "We are endlessly grateful to every rider, volunteer, donor, and sponsor who makes the Pan-Mass Challenge possible."

According to organizers, Mooney is the sole rider among more than 6,000 to hail from Laguna Beach.
