Laguna Beach High School Girls Water Polo Makes Splash At Opener
The LBHS Girl's Water Polo team took to the pool in their Surf League opener this week, against Newport Harbor.

LAGUNA BEACH, CA — The varsity ladies of the Laguna Beach High School water polo team, coached by Ethan Damato, assisted by Nathan McConnell, defeated Newport Harbor Tuesday afternoon, 11 goals to 7.
For the Breakers, Grace Houlahan (Junior) scored three goals, as did Nicole Struss (Sophomore), with goals also scored by Morgan Van Alphen (Junior), Claire Kelly (Senior), Emma Lineback (Sophomore), Tea Poljak (Junior) and Molly Renner (Sophomore).
Laguna Beach High School women's water polo has now racked up 12 wins, 0 losses and enjoys a No. 1 rank in Division 1 and 2 of CIF Southern Schools.

For Newport Harbor, Annie Rankin was the leading scorer with three goals scored. The Sailors, coached by Rob Sinclair, are currently 5-4 overall and 0-1 in league play. Next game, look for Newport Harbor to battle Corona Del Mar on Tues. January 15 at 4 p.m.
The Laguna Beach Breakers will head to the tournament of champions in Santa Barbara over the weekend. Look for the ladies next when they battle Los Alamitos at 7:30 p.m.
