Laguna Beach Police Launch Initiative To Tackle DUI Driving

The Laguna Beach Police Department announced an initiative to promote public safety and responsible alcohol service.

LAGUNA BEACH, CA — Changes are coming to Laguna Beach in regard to how police officers handle DUI arrests, the Laguna Beach Police Department reported.

The initiative is designed to promote public safety and responsible alcohol service by notifying establishments when a DUI arrest is directly linked to their business.

The program's goal is to raise awareness about the critical role businesses play in preventing impaired driving and reducing the dangerous impact on the community, according to the LBPD.

When a customer is arrested for DUI after consuming alcohol, and the investigation is linked to an alcohol establishment, the business will receive a notification letter outlining the details of the incident.

Details will include the date, time and location of the arrest, as well as the offender's blood alcohol content.
