Laguna Beach Police Pink Patch Project Supports Community Clinic
In 2019, the Laguna Beach Police Department joined the Pink Patch Project to raise funds for breast cancer awareness.

LAGUNA BEACH, CA — The Laguna Beach Police Department is thinking pink this year, having joined the Pink Patch Project.
In an effort to show support and bring awareness to breast cancer, the Laguna Beach Police Department had designed its very first pink patch which will be worn by officers in the month of October.
"As part of the program, these patches are available for purchase," Sgt. Jim Cota of the Laguna Beach Police Department said.

All proceeds from the sales will be donated to a local charity for breast cancer research and awareness.
"It's sad to say that almost everyone either knows or is aware of someone who has been affected by this disease," Cota said. "After months of planning and organizing, our unique and one of a kind patch was created."

The pink patch bears the image of the Laguna lifeguard tower, with a stylized city and beach in the background.
"It is our hope to make an impact within our small community and to help those who may not have support or money to fight this disease," Cota said.
The Laguna Police are partnering with the Laguna Beach Community Clinic, helping fund breast exams and mammograms for those who are unable to afford them.
