Easter Seals Southern California Announces New Addition to Board of Directors
Easter Seals Southern California (ESSC) Disability Services has re-appointed attorney and Laguna Beach resident Mike Murtaugh, Senior Partner of the Irvine-based law firm Murtaugh, Meyer, Nelson and Treglia, to its board of directors. The announcement was made today by Mark Whitley, president and chief executive officer of ESSC.
“Mike Murtaugh has been an invaluable Easter Seals supporter for many years and we are delighted he was able to join our board of directors once again,” says Whitley. “His legal expertise and negotiation skills have provided vital support to the organization in the past and we look forward to working with him on future projects.”
Murtaugh has been a long-time supporter of Easter Seals, serving on the board of directors during the 1990s and as board chair in 1999 and 2000. In addition to providing legal support and guidance for ESSC services, his law firm has provided corporate sponsorship for many events.

“Easter Seals Southern California is an organization I have enjoyed volunteering with through the years and I’m happy to be back on the board of directors,” Murtaugh said. “I’m looking forward to continuing to provide legal and financial support for their crucial services so people with special needs can continue to live and thrive in their communities.”
Murtaugh focuses on counseling and representing design professionals concerning liability and business matters, employment counseling and litigation, and general civil litigation. He has received the highest rating for ethics and competence in the Martindale-Hubbell Law Director, and he frequently lectures to legal and professional organizations including: the Orange County Bar Association, the American Institute of Architects Orange County, the Structural Engineers Association of Southern California and the American Council of Engineering Companies.

In addition to serving as board chair for Easter Seals Southern California, he has served on the board of directors of the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel; and he is an honorary member of the Orange County Chapter of the American Institute of Architects.
Murtaugh received a BA with honors at the University of Cincinnati, and received his law degree from the UCLA School of Law.
