Laguna Beach Residents Will Hear Noise: City Tests Warning System This Week

LAGUNA BEACH, CA — The City of Laguna Beach will run a test on its Outdoor Warning System Tuesday.

The test will occur Tuesday afternoon at 4 p.m., according to the City of Laguna Beach.

Residents will likely hear sirens outside and receive a text message notifying them of the test.

According to city staff, officials use several methods to communicate to residents in the event of an emergency.

Citywide text alerts require residents to sign up, while Wireless Emergency Alerts, and the Outdoor Warning System sirens and speakers, are broadcasted to everyone within a certain area.

To sign up for Laguna Beach citywide emergency alerts, residents can text 92651 to 888-777.
