Laguna Beach Road Closures Week Of Jan. 7-11

Drivers should avoid these streets during Southern California Edison pole replacement road work. Will this affect your afternoon drive?

LAGUNA BEACH, CA -Laguna drivers, expect traffic delays this week in the afternoons on Cleo Street and Bluebird Canyon Drive. Starting Monday, Southern California Edison (SCE) will replace utility poles, further improving the community, the City Manager's office reported.

On Monday afternoon, Jan. 7, Southern California Edison will begin replacing a utility pole at the 200 block of Cleo Street, located between South Coast Highway and Glenneyre Street. The work will continue overnight through Jan. 8, during the hours of Monday at 4 p.m. to Tuesday 5 a.m.

"Nighttime work is required as commercial customers will be impacted by the outage," the Laguna Beach City Manager's office said.

Cleo Street, between South Coast Hwy and Glenneyre Street will be closed, however, ingress and egress to the Ralphs Supermarket will be allowed during the pole replacement operation.

Closures will also occur on Thursday, Jan. 10, through Friday, Jan. 11, during the hours of 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. at the intersection of Bluebird Canyon Drive and Glenneyre Street.

"Nighttime work is required as commercial customers will be impacted by the outage," the Laguna Beach City Manager's office said.

The northbound lanes of both Bluebird Canyon Drive and Glenneyre Street will be closed in the general vicinity of the intersection. Detour signage will be provided by SCE’s contractor. For questions or concerns, please contact Dave Bevins with Rokstad Power at (951) 287-9996.
