Laguna Beach Rug Merchant Sentenced For Sexually Assaulting 2 Women In Store

LAGUNA BEACH, CA — A 67-year-old Laguna Niguel man was sentenced to 34 years to life in prison for sexually assaulting two women in his rug store, The Orange County Register reported.

Saeid Maralan was convicted of two counts of sexual penetration by a foreign object and single counts each of rape and attempted oral copulation, all felonies, the report said.

The Orange County District Attorney's Office originally filed charges against Maralan in Sept. 2011, when he was charged with sexual assaults against eight women, the report said.
