Laguna Beach Tennis Player Competes In World Championships
Ross Duncan played in the ITF Young Seniors World Team Championships last week in Cape Town, South Africa.

Six American teams took part in the ITF Young Seniors World Team Championships last week in Cape Town, South Africa. The 24 players were competing for six Cups in the 35- to 45-and-over equivalent of tennis’ Davis Cup and Fed Cup competitions.
Playing for the Men’s 35 & Over Italia Cup team, Ross Duncan (captain) of Laguna Beach and Marcio Pepe of Laguna Hills paced the team to ninth-place finish. Playing for the Men’s 40 & Over Trabert Cup team was Anaheim’s Michael Chang, whose team finished seventh overall.
The top U.S. teams were the Men’s 45 & Over team, which finished sixth in the Dubler Cup, and the Women’s 45 & Over team, which finished third for the Margaret Cup. The ITF Young Seniors World Team Championships is the highest-ranked event on the ITF Seniors Circuit for male and female players in the age categories of 35-45.

Following the ITF Young Seniors World Team Championships, the World Individual Championships took place March 25 - April 1.
