LAGUNA BEACH, CA — Do you love to sing? Looking for a big break? Tuesday night in Laguna Beach is hopping at Mozambique, according to the popular steakhouse restaurant and their new "Laguna Voice" talent search.
"In just a few short winter months, Mozambique’s Laguna Voice on Tuesday nights has become Orange County’s biggest singing contest with phenomenal 'undiscovered' talent and a lively, fun crowd of music lovers," promoter Diane Armitage said.
Hosted by Francois Dean and featuring a band of the area’s hottest musicians as accompaniment, Laguna Voice is searching for – and finding – the best voices in Southern California.

Each Tuesday, Francois Dean & Friends creates the initial spark with a fantastic jam session that pulls in the entire audience. And then, the contest begins with a spotlight on up to seven vetted singing artists who compete for nightly cash prizes.
"Singers are descending on Laguna Voice from all parts of Southern California, from San Diego to Santa Barbara," Armitage said. "Even out-of-staters are hearing about the contest and applying online."

Singers are scheduled in each week, practice with the band in advance, and are never allowed to read lyrics while on stage. The 1st and 2nd place winners are awarded cash prizes, largely determined by audience participatory vote.
Sing-Off Spotlights Each Month’s Top Talent
The Laguna Voice contest has progressed further still with a “sing-off” between all of the 1st and 2nd place winners from each month.

The head-to-head Laguna Voice “Sing-Off” debuts on Tuesday, Feb. 28th, this time with designated judges determining the top three winners.
Cover into Laguna Voice is just $5 and Mozambique serves an All-Night Happy Hour in the bar, beginning at 3:00 p.m. Come on down for this blow-the-doors-off singing competition.
