Laguna Cops Make Good On Taco Delivery After Arresting Driver
A case of after-hour munchies was spared thanks to the good-hearted nature of some local authorities.
LAGUNA BEACH, CA — Last week, a Laguna Beach patrol officer made a traffic stop, an arrest, and saved the day all in the course of one evening.
On Friday, an officer on early morning patrol pulled over a food delivery driver.
Police placed him under arrest on an outstanding warrant, Sgt. Jim Cota of Laguna Beach Police tells us. That left the puzzle of what to do with the Del Taco order he was delivering to a waiting customer at an area resort property.

"There was a whole bag of tacos that some workers at an area hotel had ordered," Cota told Patch.
It was after 1 a.m.. The tacos were hot, and let's face it. Police officers are not immune to midnight munchies.

Eating it, of course, was out of the question.
"Due to our caring and empathetic nature, the officer felt obligated to deliver the meal to the staff of the hotel," he told us.
Needless to say, the workers were a little surprised to see a policeman, in full uniform, bringing in the delivery.
Though it took over 30 minutes, Cota shared, the officer did find the food worth serving and protecting.
