Stephanie Bachiero, Laguna Sculptor, Joins JWA Arts Commission
Sculptor Stephanie Bachiero, wife of Laguna Beach councilman Peter Blake, will join the JWA arts commission.

LAGUNA BEACH, CA —Stephanie Bachiero, a Laguna Beach sculptor and wife of councilmember Peter Blake, joins the John Wayne Airport Arts Commission, the Orange County Board of Supervisors reported.
The panel makes recommendations to the airport director and county supervisors regarding artists and artworks to display through the Airport Arts Program.
Bachiero described her "dual background "as an artist and an exhibition coordinator, to the Supes. That experience gives her a "holistic perspective necessary for planning and oversight of the JWA Arts Commission's programs," she wrote in a letter directed to the OC Board Of Supervisors.

She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Fine Art Studio from Boston College, and has shown her work in juried showings at the Armory Show in New York, as well as exhibitions at the Laguna Art Museum and the Smithsonian Institution's International Gallery.
"I have devoted my career to this work, not only because it is my life's passion, but because this work is tied to my sense of community," Bachiero wrote to the Supes. After the appointment, she stated that she "feels very honored" to join the commission.

Supervisor Michelle Steel recommended Bachiero for the vacancy, after meeting the sculptor at an event held at the Peter Blake Gallery, the Newport Beach Independent Reported.
