Laguna Dance Festival Receives $5K Grant From FOA Foundation

The new funds will go toward furthering the Laguna Dance Festival's mission of providing dance performances and education to young artists.

LAGUNA BEACH, CA — The Laguna Dance Festival just received a helping hand after receiving a $5,000 grant from the Festival of Arts Foundation.

LDF Founder and Artistic Director Jodie Gates told Patch that the offered support will allow the Laguna Dance Festival to fulfill dreams of young, ambitious dancers.

"All of us at the Laguna Dance Festival are incredibly grateful for the generosity we receive in order to offer world-class dance training opportunities to the youth throughout the years," she said. "Specifically, these funds highlight the capstone educational event of the year, our annual weekling 2024 Summer Intensive."

The Summer Intensive Workshop takes place from June 17 to June 22 at the Laguna Beach High School Dance Studio, Gates said.

The workshop will be taught by well-known dancers and choreographers to advanced students 14 years and older.

Among the esteemed faculty will be Gates, architect of the USC Glorya Kaufman School of Dance Fiona Lummis, Netherlands Dance Theatre, Jillian Meyers, Ground Grooves and Jim Vincent.
