Laguna Firefighters Douse Sizzling San Clemente House Fire

A San Clemente home caught fire Tuesday afternoon but was quickly handled by the Orange County Fire Authority and Laguna Beach Firefighters.

LAGUNA BEACH, CA —Firefighters raced to a south Orange County neighborhood midday Tuesday to find a single story home fully involved in garage fire on the 100 block of Avenida Buena Ventura. Thirty Orange County Fire Authority and Laguna Beach Fire Fighters arrived on scene at approximately 1:30 p.m. to attempt to control the blaze.

A fully extended ladder truck provided roof access to firefighters for ventilation and better access to putting out the fire. Roughly two hours later, the fire was smoldering but out. The driveway filled with fire hoses, and a garage door melted and laying in the front door.

"The fire was extinguished in less than 20 minutes," Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Concialdi said. The flames were contained to the garage and some trees, as it was quite windy during the event.
