LAGUNA BEACH, CA — The Laguna JaZz Band, a subgroup of the Laguna Community Concert Band, is set to perform its cool jazz and big band favorites at the 16th annual Fête de la Musique on June 18, organizers announced Wednesday.

Residents interested in hearing from some of the best jazz artists in town will enjoy a performance with vocalist and Laguna Beach resident Ginger Hatfield, as well as vocalist Lisa Morrice.

The band's playlist integrates big band and jazz classics with more contemporary sounds, such as The Beach Boys' "Kokomo" and Sadé's "Smooth Operator."

According to organizers, the Laguna JaZz Band — or the Laguna Community Concert Band — have performed every year at the Fête de la Musique since its inception in 2007.

The 16th annual Fête de la Musique takes place from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 17 at the city's Main Beach on the Cobblestones.
