Lightning Storm Closes Laguna Beaches Monday
A lightning storm Monday afternoon prompted authorities to close all Laguna beaches out of an abundance of caution.

LAGUNA BEACH, CA — Steer clear from the water Monday, Laguna Beach. The City of Laguna Beach issued a closure of all Laguna beaches while the region feels the impact of a lightning storm Monday.
The beaches were initially closed at 2:22 p.m. Monday, according to a City of Laguna Beach Nixle alert. The closures were extended for an additional thirty minutes at 2:56 p.m., officials said.
Residents were urged to keep away from the water while the closures remain in place.
