According to the Orange County Sheriff's Department, police services in Dana Point, Newport Beach Police and other departments are all working to curtail the skull-aching noise headache in south County beach communities.
"In March of 2019, the Laguna Beach Police Department conducted four loud exhaust enforcement details in which we fielded extra officers specifically to target vehicles in violation of the loud exhaust laws of California," LBPD Motor Corporal Thom Spratt said. "We have already conducted one special detail in July and have four more details scheduled through September."

These details are on Friday, Saturday, and Sundays, the days that attract the social riders who tend to be in violation more than the commuter riders.
"We appreciate your patience as we continue our efforts to keep Laguna Beach as peaceful as possible," Spratt said.
