Man Gets 19 Years for Laguna Beach Home Invasion Robbery
One of two defendants in a Laguna Beach home invasion robbery pleaded guilty today.
A 23-year-old Los Angeles man pleaded guilty today for his part in a Laguna Beach home invasion robbery and was immediately sentenced to 19 years in prison.
Tyrone Lamont Beasley pleaded guilty to first-degree robbery with a sentencing enhancement for using a weapon in the crime and street terrorism. Multiple other felony counts of false imprisonment, assault with a deadly weapon with enhancements of doing the crimes for the benefit of a gang were dismissed.
Co-defendant Jyvontaye Demetric Harris, 22, of Los Angeles, was next due in court May 18.

Beasley and Harris were accused of a home invasion robbery about 10:30 p.m., Oct. 13, 2012, in Laguna Beach, according to police.
The two were accused of stealing about $6,000 worth of jewelry, Laguna Beach police Capt. Jason Kravetz said when they were arrested in April 2013.

Working with Los Angeles police, Laguna Beach detectives recovered a cellphone stolen in the robbery that led investigators to identify the suspects, Kravetz said.
