Man Hangs Himself from Balboa Pier
The Balboa Pier was closed today as police investigated the death of a man found hanging from the pier.
A man apparently hanged himself from the Balboa Pier in Newport Beach today, police said.
Police were called to respond to a report of a body hanging from the pier, according to Newport Beach police Sgt. Peter Carpentieri.
It appears to be a case of suicide, Carpentieri said.

The pier had to be closed for a few hours this morning, but it was re- opened by 10 a.m., the sergeant said.
