Man Ran Down By Car In Violent Argument At Laguna Beach Bar

The initial argument was reportedly over the Israeli/Palestinian conflict and ultimately two men were arrested by police.

LAGUNA BEACH, CA — Two were arrested after a bar fight that involved an argument over the Israeli/Palestinian conflict escalating until one man attempted running over another with his car in Laguna Beach, police said Wednesday.

The fight was reported on Saturday, Dec. 7 around 2:19 a.m., when a 25-year-old Huntington Beach man chased on of the others out into the 200 block of Beach Street and tackled him, authorities said.

According to a Laguna Beach Police Department news release, a 39-year-old friend of the man who was tackled drove his car into the sidewalk and struck a 28-year-old man.

According to police, the altercation caused “significant but non-life-threatening injuries to his lower extremities.”

No further information about the arrests was immediately available.
