Monday Wave Check

South facing spots showing a few fun waves!

Waking up with the waves on Monday, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Laguna Beach Patch surf report.  Well, we're seeing some really early season southerly energy, which is offering a few fun waves in this neck of the woods.

The conditions are starting off nice and clean, with a combination of mostly south southwesterly swell and some minor leftover west-northwest energy in the water.  That recipe is offering some kinda crumbly and broken-up lines, with a few fast sections.

Most spots in Laguna Beach are seeing knee- to waist-high waves, with the top south facing focal points pulling some stomach-high waves, with a couple of plus sets.

At 6:16 this morning the tide climbed up to a 5.3 high, which will have many breaks pretty full or even shut down early morning.  The tide then drains out to a negative zero point five low at 1:19 this afternoon.

If you're planning on paddling throw on at least the 3/2 fullsuit or a 4/3 and possibly the booties, with the water temperature averaging between 56 and 58 degrees.

FYI...County Health Officials urge surfers and swimmers to stay out of the water after a rain for at least 72 hours, especially near river mouths, harbor entrances and storm drains.
