Monday Wave Check: Don't Ditch Class Today

Conditions are lousy.

Waking up with the waves on Monday, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Laguna Beach Patch surf report.  Well, this latest storm has kicked up the surf a bit, but unfortunately we're dealing with some pretty lousy conditions.

Most spots in this neck of the woods are already seeing quite a bit of chop, with a mixture of some increasing northwest wind and storm swell.  That's providing some disorganized crumbly lines, with not a lot to work with!

Most Laguna Beach spots are running about knee- to stomach-high, with the focal points pulling a few larger sets.  Taking a look at those tides, at 10:16 this morning it climbs up to a 4.1 high and then drops to a 0.9 low at 4:07 this afternoon.

If you're really in need of a salt water bath, throw on the 4/3 fullsuit and maybe the booties, with the water temperature averaging between 55 and 57 degrees.

FYI ... County Health Officials urge surfers and swimmers to stay out of the ocean after a rain for at least 72 hours, especially near river mouths, harbor entrances and storm drains.
