Monday Wave Check

Minimal energy out there!

Waking up with the waves on Monday, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Laguna Beach Patch surf report.  Well, you won't find much energy in this neck of the woods, but if you don't mind doing a little driving,  you can pick off a few playful waves farther south!

The conditions are mostly clean and glassy early on, with a mixture of minimal energy in the water.  We're seeing mainly leftover south swell and some very small northwest energy.

That recipe is making for some weak crumbly lines, with maybe a few that'll get you going on a longboard if you're a mini-grom.  Most spots in Laguna Beach are running about knee-high, with the focal points pulling some thigh-high waves, with maybe an occasional waist-high set.

Check the tides...at 6:02 this morning it climbed up to a 4.5 high, which will have some spots a little full early on.  The tide then drops to a 0.0 low at 1:03 this afternoon.

If you're going to get wet, you'll want to wear at least that 3/2 fullsuit and possibly the booties, with the water temperature averaging between 56 and 57 degrees.  Good luck out there!

FYI...The County Health Department encourages surfers and swimmers to stay out of the ocean for at least 72 hours after a rain due to the possibility of elevated bacteria levels especially near river mouths, storm drains and harbor entrances.
