New Fire Station To Break Ground In Laguna Beach

The Laguna Beach City Council voted to approve the purchase of a piece of land in South Laguna for a future fire station.

LAGUNA BEACH, CA — South Laguna Beach residents will have a new fire station in the future, after the City Council approved the acquisition of a parcel of land for the location of a new Fire Station No. 4 and related public use facility.

The fire station will be located on 31796 Coast Highway, where a current dental office stands.

The $6.1 million acquisition comes after the city came to an agreement with the owner of the land to purchase the three parcels located on Coast Highway at 5th Avenue.

According to the city, the purchase is dependent on finalizing the California Environmental Quality Act Initial Study-Mitigated Negative Declaration, which is scheduled for City Council consideration on Nov. 15.
