New K-9 Joins Laguna Beach Police Department
A second patrol K-9 was recently recruited to join the Laguna Beach Police Department, the department said Tuesday.

LAGUNA BEACH, CA — A new dog has joined the ranks of the Laguna Beach Police Department, the department announced Tuesday.
Patrol K-9 "Bear" is a 2 and-a-half year old Belgian Malinois. He met his handler, LBPD Corporal Priscilla Angeloni, on Friday and is currently participating in a six-week training program in Jurupa Valley.
Bear joins K-9 Rudy as part of the Laguna Beach Police Department. With the second K-9 addition, the department will now have two K-9 teams providing all-week coverage to Laguna Beach residents.

"Corporal Angeloni and K-9 Bear are a fantastic match and have already bonded as partners,” Laguna Beach Police Chief Jeff Calvert said in a statement. “They will make an excellent addition to the K-9 program and coupled with Corporal McGuire and his partner K-9 Rudy, these two teams will be an added layer of protection to the Laguna Beach community."
The 52-pound K-9 will be trained in drug detection, locating missing and wanted people, and apprehending individuals who pose a threat to public safety, the department said.
