OC Health Care Names New Agency Director
Assistant director Richard Sanchez will assume top spot as Mark Refowitz retires.

ORANGE COUNTY, CA – The Orange County Health Care Agency's assistant director was promoted to lead the agency, effective Friday, it was announced Tuesday.
Richard Sanchez will succeed Mark Refowitz, who is retiring.
Sanchez has worked in the agency for the past 12 years. He has more than 30 years of experience as a public official and previously led Sacramento County's Environmental Health Department.

Sanchez earned a bachelor's degree in biological sciences from UC Irvine and a master's degree in public health from Loma Linda University.
“Richard’s understanding of the Health Care Agency and the opportunities and challenges facing OrangeCounty will allow him to continue to fill the department’s vision of working together for a healthier tomorrow,” said Board of Supervisors Chairwoman Michelle Steel, Second District Supervisor.
