Victim ID'd In Fatal Laguna Beach Crosswalk Crash
The crash was reported Saturday in the 700 block of Coast Highway after a resident called 911 to report a man lying in the street.
LAGUNA BEACH, CA — A man was killed this weekend in Laguna Beach after being struck by a car, the Laguna Beach Police Department reported.
The crash happened at 2:47 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 28 in the 700 block of Coast Highway, the authorities said. Police were called to the scene by a resident who reported a man lying in the street.
The man, who later died at the scene, was identified as 39-year-old Xueyuan Zhang.

The driver of the car that hit Zhang remained on scene and worked with police, Laguna Beach Police Department Sgt. Cornelius Ashton told the Orange County Register.
He said drugs and alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the accident.

The department urged anyone with information regarding the fatality to call it at 949-497-0701.
