Photos: Helicopter Rescue at Tablerock Beach

Laguna Beach firefighters and lifeguards, along with Orange County lifeguards, rescued a man Friday afternoon at South Laguna's , according to a release issued by division chief Dan Stefano of the Laguna Beach Fire Department.

A bystander on the beach reported that the man, who appeared to be in his 30s, was not breathing and was unresponsive until a team of firefighters, paramedics and lifeguards arrived on the scene and were able to successfully resuscitate him with aggressive advanced life saving efforts.

He was subsequently transported by helicopter to Mission Hospital Trauma Center in Mission Viejo in critical condition. The current status of the patient is unknown.
