Police Aid ICE Agents After Armed Man Seen Jumping Fences In OC
Fullerton Police officers assisted federal agents after a Hispanic man was seen jumping fences with a handgun in town.
FULLERTON, CA ā Fullerton police aided Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agents Thursday morning after receiving a report of a Hispanic man armed with a handgun jumping fences in town.
The call was made at around 6:44 a.m. Thursday morning, when police were told that the caller saw a Hispanic man wearing a white shirt and armed with a handgun jumping fences in the area.
Upon arrival, police were flagged down by ICE agents, who confirmed a male suspect had fled from them and was armed with a handgun.

"Because of the potential threat of an armed suspect in the area, FPD officers quickly assisted by setting up a perimeter, prioritizing pubic safety of residents and officers, while ICE agents searched for their suspects," police said in a statement.
"While Senate Bill 54 prohibits local law enforcement agencies from participating in federal immigration enforcement, ICE is a federal law enforcement agency, and the Fullerton Police Department will assist them ā and any other local, state or federal law enforcement agency ā when there is an immediate threat to officer safety or public safety."
