Police Dog Gets New Bulletproof Vest, Thanks To Laguna Beach Donors

LAGUNA BEACH, CA — The K9s of the Laguna Beach Police Department just got a little safer, after two working dogs were gifted with a top-of-the-line K9 Storm Inc. Patrol SWAT Vest.

The purchase was made thanks to the Laguna Beach Police & Community Foundation, as well as board member Bob Roper.

"[The vests] are considered the gold standard in K9 protection," a city news release said. "Each dog is measured in 27 different areas to create a custom vest that is perfectly fitted to them."

"The handler could have the dog wear the vest the entire shift if they chose to without worrying about tiring the dog with the extra weight, or causing them to overheat," the city said.
